Dr Stuart Ellis

Dr Stuart Ellis is the Clinical Lead for Cavendish House and Assistant Professor of Dental Education at the University of Cambridge. Dr Ellis qualified from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne in 1990. In 1999 he gained the DPDS from the University of Bristol and in 2006 was awarded his first Masters Degree (MSc) in Postgraduate Dental Studies. He has since also qualified with a Masters Degree in Medical Law & Ethics from the University of Edinburgh and a Masters Degree in Dental Education from the University of Cambridge.

Dr Ellis holds Fellowships at the Faculty of Dental Surgery, Royal College of Surgeons of England (FDSRCS) and the College of General Dentistry (FCGDent).

Dr Ellis' main area of interest is in the field of dental implantology, which he has been involved in for over 34 years. He is the Chief Examiner at the Cambridge Academy of Dental Implantology for both the Postgraduate Certificate and Postgraduate Diploma in Dental Implantology qualifications and Clinical Course Lead for the MSc in Advanced Dental Implantology and the MSc in General Dental Practice degrees at Aston University. He has been involved in dental education for many years and has trained over 1,000 dentists from across the world in the field of dental implantology. Stuart is also co-director of the Postgraduate Certificate in Dental Education programme at the University of Cambridge.

Dr Ellis acts as an Expert Witness for the English and Irish courts and has been consulted on over 300 cases. He is a Clinical Expert Advisor for the General Dental Council.

Away from the surgery he is a keen cyclist.
